Signal box paintings in Melbourne’s north

I recently had fun painting a couple of signal boxes in North Fitzroy + Clifton Hill. The signal boxes are small, grey-green constructions that house the workings for our traffic + pedestrian lights; necessary, but very boring in appearance.

I first painted a Bunnykid, unicorn, foxchild + pig on a signal box on the corner of Scotchmer st + St Grorges Rd, North Fitzroy:

I then took on the challenge of painting the second box (corner Hoddle + Ransden sts, Clifton Hill) in stormy superwindy conditions, right on the roadside on one of Melbourne’s busiest roads on a Friday:

Thank you Shaun + Kim, + thank you also to those who came + supported me while I painted with their company, stories, drinks, food, chairs, + laughter. I love Melbourne’s north x
