I am thrilled + very honoured to have been photographed with my work as part of Depending on the Street (D.O.T.S), the new personal project by fantastic Danish photographer Soren Solkaer Starbird.
From the Art Equity website: “Søren Solkær Starbird is one of the worlds most commissioned photographers of leading musicians and rock bands. His impressive list of assignments includes shooting the likes of The White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Paul McCartney, U2 and Kylie Minogue. He travels extensively for photographic assignments for record labels (EMI, Atlantic Records, Universal Music), ad agencies and magazines (Q Magazine, Rolling Stone, GQ, Wallpaper). He has held numerous solo shows in Prague, Copenhagen, Cologne, Chicago and New York and travelled widely throughout Asia, including India where he photographed ‘Souls’ – a series of arresting portraits of Yogis in meditation.”
Soren is currently working on his 4th book project, Depending on the Street (D.O.T.S), which will show portraits of some of the worlds most significant artists who work in the public space. The book will be completed in 2014. A few of the artists photographed so far include Aryz, Adnate, Ron English, Hownosm, Neils Shoe Meulman, Lady Aiko, Mark Bode, Saber, Eine, Sickboy, Ludo, Miso, Nelio, Kid Zoom, E.L.K, Shepard Fairey…
… + Kaff-eine.
I met Soren + Tine on a sunny Fitzroy day in late 2012, in the lane where I had painted an early deerhunter, to have my portrait taken for the D.O.T.S project. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them + watching them work, + I am absolutely stoked with the way they photographed both myself, + my work:

Thank you so much Soren + Tine for photographing me for this exciting project. I am excited to see both the book + the exhibition, when they reach Australian shores.
